Chickens

We currently have around 15 chickens at the Sanctuary. All are different sizes, breeds and ages. They are housed in a pen but are allowed to roam around the Sanctuary in the daytime, sometimes visiting the goats and neighbouring ducks. Their favourite treats are peas, sweetcorn and lettice.

Ducks and Geese

We currently have a number of ducks and geese on our three duck ponds. 'Stumpy' our one-legged duck can be seen in the picture above with her family of 8 ducklings. They were born in May and have grown up fast!

Larry the Peacock

Larry arrived here after being a guest at a local wedding and being left behind. He was recently given the name Larry at our Dog Show and open day. This was the winning name in a competition. His diet is made up of many different fruits and seeds, with a particular favourite being Mangoes, which help keep his feathers in tip-top condition.
