We ask all potential adopters to complete an application form, so that we can ensure all of our animals are matched with people who are able to provide the correct environment and lifestyle required.
We take reasonable steps to ensure that every animal we rehome will have a good quality of life. This includes an 'interview and matching process', and a home-visit may also be carried out to help us ensure that potential adopters have really thought about the implications of owning a pet.
We will ask to see photographs of your enclosure and setup if you are interested in adopting any of our small animals or birds.
Multiple viewings may be required before taking an animal home. All potential adopters are required to attend a minimum of two viewings before being allowed to take a cat home.
We will need to see photo identification and proof of address to proceed with an adoption.
For those potential adopters who live in rented accommodation, we require written permission from the landlord to ensure they are happy for an animal to be kept at the property.
As we do not have a vet on-site, not all animals will have received a veterinary examination prior to adoption. However, all of our animals receive regular health checks whilst they are with us, which are carried out by our staff.
We ensure potential adopters are made aware of any medical or behavioural concerns, including dietary requirements, prior to reservation of an animal.
We operate a waiting list system when we do not have a suitable match currently available for individuals who have already completed our adoption form.
As part of the adoption procedure, we ensure that all of our cats are neutered and microchipped before they are rehomed. All cats will also be up-to-date with flea and worm treatment as appropriate to the individual.
We will not rehome animals to countries lacking adequate animal welfare legislation or requiring journeys that compromise their welfare.
We will not rehome an animal to anyone without identification and proof that they are over 18 years old.
We do not rehome kittens under the age of eight weeks. Kittens are often rehomed around sixteen weeks of age, as we ensure they are neutered prior to leaving our care.
We will keep any stray animal that is brought into us for at least 7 days to allow their owners a good chance of reclaiming them.
We are happy to provide post-adoption support to help the animal settle into their new home. We're only ever a phone call or email away, so please don't hesitate to get in touch for any advice you might need.
